During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the national mining industry structure was continuously optimized, 5,464 coal mines with a production capacity of 940 million tons were eliminated, and more than 19,000 metal and non-metal mines and tailings ponds were rectified and closed.

"Although the mine safety production work has achieved remarkable results in recent years, the situation is still complicated and severe."
